• Melasma Q switch

Melasma appears as dark colored symmetrical patches on the face. These patches are the result of dysregulation of homeostatic mechanisms that control skin pigmentation. Melasma is considered a cosmetic problem but there are treatments for it. One of the treatments is Q switch laser treatment which is done in multiple stages/sessions.  Laser is a new approach and there have been many positive feedbacks regarding Q switch laser.

    FAQ

    • Melasma is a common skin problem causing dark, discolored patches on the cheeks, forehead, bridge of the nose, chin, neck, shoulders, and forearms.
    • Other areas of the body that are often exposed to the sun may develop melasma.
    • The pigmentation in melasma is deeper and denser than regular sunspots.

Melasma occurs due to the malfunction of Melanocytes (the color-making cells). Potential triggers of Melasma include:

    • Hormonal sensitivity (estrogen and progesterone)
    • Pregnancy
    • Birth control pills
    • Stress
    • Thyroid disease
    • Sun exposure
    • Genetics

For some women, melasma disappears on its own. This typically occurs when it is caused by pregnancy.

    • Thanks to 3D Lifestyle’s combination of treatments, today most Melsama cases can be cured through multiple treatment options. Results vary, depending on the nature of the pigments and skin color treated over time.
    • At 3D Lifestyle, we offer several treatment options depending on the severity of Melasma, Skin Type, previous treatments taken, and the response of those treatments.
    • Upon looking at your condition a 3D certified aesthetic consultant can best guide you to a comprehensive mix of treatment plans including non-surgical applications over time through IPL (Intense Pulse Light), Q-Switch Nd:YAG (laser) and Photo LED treatment (near Infra-Red 830nm) with Dermalux.
